Our Profile

Cornucopia Caterers was established in 1990 with a mission to provide delicious, bountiful, healthy, and creative food for private and corporate events. Since that time the company’s high standards in presentation and service, extensive variety, reasonable prices – and delicious food – combined with its ability to create customized menus for your special event, has made Cornucopia into one of Los Angeles’s premier caterers.

Cornucopia Caterers has a vast range of experience and extensive menu selection, from casual barbecues and specially-themed parties, to formal dinners large and small, for groups of ten to 3,000. Cornucopia has catered events at many of Los Angeles’s notable museums, institutions and event venues, including the California Science Center, the Hollywood Entertainment Museum, the Peterson Museum, Barnsdall Art Park and Theatre, and Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. These private locations often require caterers to be on a select list of approved vendors.

Cornucopia initially was a subsidiary of a major retail food service chain before becoming an independent company in 1990. As a result, Cornucopia understands the business environment and corporate needs, and has been able to work closely with corporate clients to create many successful events. Among its satisfied clients are: UCLA Medical Center, USC Medical Center, Casden Institute, Hebrew Union College, Brentwood School, Paramount, MGM, NBC, Kaiser Permanente, C.B. Richard Ellis, Polacheck’s Jewelers, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Boeing, and United Airlines.

Cornucopia is a full service caterer, but it also has unique expertise when it comes to kosher food and Jewish specialties. The company is on the preferred catering list of many synagogues in the Los Angeles area, including Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Temple Israel, Temple Emanuel, Temple Beth Hillel, and Judea Temple Isaiah, and has catered many social events, fundraisers, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, extended Kiddushes, and weddings.

The Cornucopia team includes exceptional chefs, event managers and a professional staff trained to the standards of fine dining. Cornucopia maintains a full professional commercial kitchen facility at its headquarters building, but to assure freshness and high quality, food is prepared on event site as much as is possible.

Giving back to the community is important to Cornucopia Catering. The company and its owner, Elliot Mahn, participate in many charitable endeavors, supporting Beit T’shuva, Children’s Hospital, USC Norris Cancer Center, Cerebral Palsy’s Golf Tournaments, and much more. In addition, Cornucopia donates much of its excess food from catered events to P.A.T.H. (People Assisting the Homeless).
